Shocking ineffective process for standard bank insurance - wasted time and effort with little to no result
I have been a client of standard bank since 1980 and of standard bank insurance since 1992. Luckily I have not had to use standard bank insurance very often. My geyser burst on the evening of 18 May 2022. I phoned standard bank insurance emergency line on 19 May and the plumber came out to replace the geyser. After chasing the contact centre, the builder came 2 weeks later to assess the damaged ceiling but then returned and only painted over the damage based on what was approved. I will need to replace the ceiling anyway as water damage and holes show through the paint. Now the geyser is causing problems. I need this fixed. I phoned the call centre on Tuesday 28 June. I was number 50 in the queue and clicked the option to be phoned when number 1. 3 hours later i phoned again, i was number 72 in the queue and held on for 1 hour. I received a call back on Thursday 30 June( 2 days later!!!). Agent very helpful and put me through to the plumbing line. I held on for 10minutes listening to an irritating American voice telling me how important I was. This automatically shut down after 10 mins and went to a survey and closed. Nothing achieved! Phoned call centre back and was 256 in queue. How can this be an effective client service process?? What do I do now?
