*********** service, *****ulent practices, zero customer service

Where to begin... I've had difficulty with Standard Bank since I began dealing with them in 2019. Compared to any other bank or insurance company you could deal with, they are by faaaaaar the worst. Currently, I have been involved in a 5 year back and forth battle with them over building insurance they added to my home loan policy, without me EVER signing up for building insurance. I have my own, through Outsurance, since the day I purchased my house in 2019. Any attempts to get the insurance removed, leads to a dead end. If you've been dealing with person X for weeks, they tell you that you should have dealt with person Y at the other department, so all that effort for naught. After eventually logging so many complaints because the hole they are digging for themselves just gets deeper and deeper, I eventually get assigned a "Special Investigator" called Louis Ngobeni. A man who as far as I know, doesn't exist. Not one of my emails gets responded to, I am completely ignored while he "investigates" the matter, and escalating the matter to his team leader (as I am told to do should I be unsatisfied with the service), Martha Motsamai, you guessed it, gets you ignored by yet another person.

I received a routine letter from the insurance (that I never asked for), happily informing me that they are going to push up my rates by 23% starting 1 December. Which is a ridiculous amount for a yearly increase. Remember, I have been trying to get rid of this insurance scheme (both as noun, and as the ******** action 'scheme' that this resembles) for 5 YEARS!

Not only that, the address for the insured property they listed on the notice, isn't even my house!?!?! It some other person's address in Durban, Ethekwini area living at 11 Starling Place in Gillits. What makes it even more strange, is that this address change was done recently. Because my correspondence up until 2022 that I have, have my actual address listed. So how this seems to me, is that I am paying twice what Outsurance are charging me for the same cover, for insurance I don't want or need, and after I pay these fees, they are all going towards someone else's house being covered?

My question to Standard Bank, is alles ok daar by die huis? Kort julle hulp dalk om met geld te werk?

I expect a full refund for every insurance premium contribution you have taken from me in the last 5 years, with interest.
