Running away when it comes to claiming.
I very close family member passed away last week in South Korea where she was working. My wife had a funeral policy with SBSA in order to assist with the burial costs.
Because she passed in South Korea, we have a South Korean death certificate and the confirmation from the SOUTH AFRICAN embassy in Seoul that my sister has been declared deceased, we also have the SA death certificate which we submitted almost a week ago. We were specifically told by the RSA government that the confirmation is an official binding document and can be used for insurance policies etc.
My wife has been speaking to a representative from SBSA who has been running her from pillar to post since for almost THREE WEEKS NOW.
They whole POINT of a funeral policy is that it is processed timeously in order to assist with burial costs. I can just imagine if we didn't have the financial means to do it ourselves we would be stranded.
This IS NOT treating customers fairly. And this is the kind of thing that can blow up in your face if you are not honoring valid insurance policies when it comes to claim stage. Your clients need to know that this is how they will be treated.
