R20,000 could have saved R200,000 - poor patch work

So this is the second time I'm have a completely unprofessional totally hopeless bad service from standard bank insurance.

Anyone reading this if you have a bond on a house and standard bank is insuring you, i strongly advise that you change service providers.

Firstly a few months ago i reported a burst water pipe. It took 3 phone calls to even get them to send me a claim number. We had a burst water pipe. Standard bank insisted on patching it instead of rerouting. Several plumbers advised against this. I took pictures and everything. They didnt even bother getting 3 quotes to compare costs if they felt it was too high. Pipe was patched and here I am 2 months later. Same issue. Water bill that no reasonable person can afford. I'm up to date with my bond payments. I paid excess on previous service. Everything up to date.

This week same thing happened. I called. Got cut off 3 times. Spoke to two agents. NEither of them sent proof of my call.

They mixed up the times when I would be home. Sent two different service providers to do the same leak detection and fixing to my house at the same time.

Then on top of that they find that as the previous plumbers advised that the pipe shouldnt have been patched it should have been rerouted. Why? Because they did leak detection and found the leak occuring in the same place.

Now, with the water account under pensioners terms. Current bill is over R200,000 they are saying they only cover R3000.

Oh and I'm still waiting on the reference number for the claim even though they sent people out here yesterday the 7th. Absolutely and totally ridiculous.
