Quick to take it, Slow to pay it out!

I have had new roofing installed over 2 years ago without any problems or leaks over this period. We had a horrific storm in April 2019 this year with multiple deaths in KZN, houses collapsing, rivers overflowing and sewer pipes bursting causing major damage to even our oceans. I suffered roof damage whereby the membrane even started to sag with the amount of water it was holding from the rain coming in through the roof. My ceiling boards and walls were damaged and the paint started bubbling up with moisture over the days to follow. I am at the point now that whenever it rains, even a little, water leaks into the house. My flatlet shower drain also overflows suddenly since then. Regarding my claim 19/043545, I called Standard Bank Insurance who sent an assessor who did not have a clue of what he was saying suggesting in his report that the damage after such an intense storm is from construction, design and workmanship flaws as well as wear and tear. What nonsense!.. But guess I will have to fork out the costs from my pocket since the insurance is so useless!.. Quick to deduct a monthly premium but very slow to pay out in the event of a problem looking for loopholes.
