Products sold under false pretenses

Good day, I am very confused and upset with Standard Bank Credit Card / Isurance company. As you all know these institutions are very quick to sell you additional things when you have a credit card, but if you need to claim they have all kinds of excuses. I lost my business as result of the Covid 19 pandemic, and when I phoned Standard Bank Insurance yesterday (I pay insurance on my credit card) I was told that I am not covered for the Covid 19 pandemic. We pay large insurance premiums, and we are told a lot of bull and we fall for the wonderful picture they paint. Nobody asked for the Covid 19, and a lot of people are in the same situation. Can people explain why we are sold things under false pretences? I am livid to say the least. A call or e-mail explaining that we are not covered would have helped.
