POOR SERVICE NO CANCELLATION

We bought a house a while ago, and found out after a month that we have building insurance with Standard Bank (much to our surprise as we thought we only had buildings insurance with our bond originator!!). I cancelled the insurance with the bond originator and attended to get building insurance from First for Women, after I found out about the insurance from Standard Bank I attended to a phone call with them on 16 August 2016 requesting them to cancel my insurance with them. The woman informed me that I have to send my proof of building insurance with First for Women to an email address, which I did, also on 16 August 2016.

I have since then not heard from them and attended to call them once again today, only to be informed that I will only receive feedback from them on 2 September 2016, my debit order is being deducted on the 1st of September 2016, which means I will once again pay for a service I requested to be cancelled. When I told the woman that my debit order will be deducted on the 1st September and if I will be refunded she told me that they cannot refund me as my notice period was not enough - I requested the cancellation since 16 August 2016!!!! They are delaying the matter not me.

I have now been paying double buildings insurance for two months as I cannot cancel my any one of my policies because I don't know when Standard Bank will eventually decide to cancel my policy as requested!!!!

I will not recommend Standard Bank Insurance to any one!!!! We bought our first house through ABSA Home Loans and we still receive great service from them, we have moved from one insurance company to the next and every time we email the new policy to them they respond within a week. Why does Standard Bank take almost a month just to cancel my policy???????
