Please read the reviews before taking out Insurance with Standard Bank

I am writing regarding my recent experience with a home insurance claim through Standard Bank, which has been extremely disappointing. I initiated a claim to fix my heat pump over six months ago.

After an assessment was completed by a plumber dispatched by Standard Bank, a report was sent confirming that the heat pump was leaking. Following this, I was contacted by Standard Bank, who expressed distrust in their own assessor's findings and requested that I send out a different service provider to verify the issue, which I declined. The following day, I was contacted again and informed that the original plumber had supposedly retracted their statement and now reported that the unit was not leaking, leading to the rejection of my claim.

This entire process and the conflicting information are unacceptable.

Due to this handling of the claim, I will be cancelling our home insurance policy with Standard Bank.
