Ref No 16-033866 Dear Sir/Madam From the inception of my banking life, all my banking accounts are with the Standard Bank. I am, to put it mildly, very disappointed with the manner in which my insurance claim has been handled. <ul style="list-style-type: disc; direction: ltr;"> <li style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"> The geyser in my outhouse burst on Tues 19 April 2016. The issue of the tiles remains unresolved. </li> <li style="color: #000000; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"> <p style="text-align: justify; color: #000000; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">I believe that by no stretch of imagination will the repairs get done for the amount quoted. </li> <li style="color: #000000; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"> <p style="text-align: justify; color: #000000; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">I have asked the bank to do the repairs and pay for it but they have not. </li> </ul> I have made several calls and hope some senior personnel will listen to the calls which are recorded. I also expect the matter to be resolved within seven days or else I will pursue the matter with the ombudsman. I am also considering cancelling the policy with Standard Bank and closing my banking accounts with you.
