Overcharged excess amount for claiming

I have an motor vehicle insurance with standard bank which is underwritten by liberty. On the 5th of October I had an accident and place a claim with standard that when they told me that it is underwritten by liberty. On the 24th of October the insurance ( liberty) they sent the panel beater company to collect the car from my home for repair. Later on liberty sent a message to tell me that I must pay excess of R9000.00 which is contrary to the contract. On the contract it state the excess as R5000.00. I queried with liberty, the consultant who was assisting me is Sebastian Rapoo, he could not reference the new excess on the contract. He then said he will send an email to his manager to amend the excess.

I then gave them authorization to fix my car. After the car has been fixed. I was called by the panel eater company to come and collect the car. Upon my arrival, I was informed that my excess is R9000.00 when I asked how so because in my contact it states R5000.00 no one was willing to assist and I asked to speak to Sebastian and he was unavailable.

I ended up having to pay R9000.00 which is not on the contract because I needed the car.
