Not adhering to POPIA Act
During June 2023 I requested and accepted a quote from Standard Bank Insurers for my home contents.
I requested that the first payment (debit order) should be deducted on 1 July 2023, but on the 6th of June 2023 an insurance premium went off and not the amount that was stated and accepted as per agreement. I was under the impression that maybe the administrator forget to make a note that I would like the first payment to be July 2023 and that it still went off as an amount pro rata and I didn't bother to follow up.
On the 1st of July 2023 my account was debited with 2 different insurance premiums and with different reference numbers. I decided to phone this morning just to be confronted that some one else's debit order is being deducted from my account.
This is worrying to the next level. please explain to me how this is possible that you are debiting my account with some one else's details.
This is contravening the POPIA Act as my personal details does not match the personal details of the other persons' debit order.
Explain to me how this is possible!!!!
