No Response on appeal to claim outcome

7 Days ago an independent assessor appointed by Standard Bank Insurance, came to my house, assessed some electronic items that I claimed due to lightning damage. The guy arrived, and is very well presented and clearly knows what he is talking about, he checked all my stuff, opened them up and confirmed that it seems like there has been lightning damage.

We talked about the weather over the weekend when my stuff got damaged, and I advised him that we have a weather station on one of my ISP towers close by, and I will send him the weather report if that will help. Everything was sent to him same day Friday 15 March, and he advised me that he will work on my assessment during the weekend & give standard bank his feedback.

Monday came, no answer from anyone, Tuesday came, and the standard bank complaints department phoned me & confirmed they have not yet received any feedback from the assessor, but they will be in touch once they do. Today it's Friday again, and still no answer whatsoever.

First, the "claims consultant" refused blatantly that I get a second & third opinion, as the first SP that assessed my items, claimed surge(which is excluded on my policy). If he did not refuse in so many words, I wouldve said, let me get the stuff assessed again by another 2 independent parties, and then we check the outcome. Because of this I decided to lodge a complaint on hellopeter, and now it seems clear, that even after all of this trouble I am going through, I will still not get assisted, because Standard Bank just does not care.

I will continue to make statements and move on to Facebook and/or any other digital media, printed media, etc. if i have to, until someday, someone phones me back with the outcome that I am paying for every single damn month.

I would not recommend anyone to use Standard Bank Insurance as their insurance provider, because it just causes more stress that not having insurance at all...
