No assistance on claims submitted.

Reported a electricity claim on the 21th of July and too date no consultant assisted us after getting the damage report. The claim was submitted 3 times and all the do is cancel it! And keep in mind the electrician stated in the damage report that it is a dangerous situation.

And their response is that there is an 8 working day turnaround time. Not impressed on the response as the consultants must have processed the claim accordingly the first time it was reported the 21st of July. We sit with an electricity cable from the electricity metre box outside to the db board inside the house. It's not safe at all, but lets give them another 8 working days. Hopefully the municipality won't ask for their cable in the meantime.

Three working days left for the Standard Bank Insurance team.

This is the damage report we received and not “important enough” to attend to.

Our electrician Marthunis went out to the client’s property to assess. Herewith his report:
Upon arrival at the client they informed me that the electricity inside the house was off, there was a temporary connection laid on the ground to supply the house with electricity in the meantime.
Inspection was done and it was concluded that the cable from the DB Board inside the house to the municipal box outside is faulty due to deterioration. The 10 mm suffix cable runs through concrete and cement for approx. 20m to inside the house in conduit pipe.
The client does have temporary electricity, but it is recommended that the cable be replaced as this is a dangerous risk, as the cable is not in the conduit pipe. Regards - Sharl

Please help Standard Bank, before someone gets hurt, of there is a electricity spark that sets the house on fire!
