Most ********** communication & customer "service" yet.

My family and I decided to move insure to be with Standard Bank late last year, a decision that is now proving to be not so great.

On Saturday 27 August my car was crashed into while I was yielding at a traffic circle by a gentleman who happened to be speeding when his brakes unfortunately failed.

I spent the rest of my saturday trying get through to Standard Insurance and was unfortunately put "on hold" for a couple of hours. I then had to wait till Monday the 29th to re-attempt to report the accident and lodge a claim. I was yet again put on the line for an hour and 45minutes being moved from one department to another, after I had been trying to get through with a number that I was given by the people at Standard Bank.

When I eventually got through, I was met with the most impertinent consultant, who's name I unfortunately cannot remember, she had minimal patience, which I find quite ironic after I had patiently waited for almost two hours.

After that ********** service I had recieved, I had to wait until Wednesday the 31st for an assessor to come and assess my car. That was the last day I heard anything from Standard Bank. I had to personally call them again, another conquest that saw me on the holding line for 45minutes just to get through to someone to help me. When I had gotten through, I asked why a week had lasped and I had not been contacted and updated at all about my claim, thus NO communication. The lady blandly told me that the reason I had not been contacted was because the person who was handling my claim was away on leave, however, someone would contact me thereon.

Yet again, I had no body contact me from Standard Bank, thus NO communication, I only received a call from the panel beaters on friday the 9th to tell me to bring my car in on the following Monday.

It literally took 18 days, yes 18 DAYS, for my car to just get into a panel beater/repairer from the day of the accident (***). Being mindful of this, Standard Bank booked my courtesy car with Avis for 20 days, which means means by the time my car had been taken into the panel beater, I had already had the courtesy car for 14 days. Now I had to personally call Avis and try to get them to organise Standard Bank to have the 20 days extended. Yet again, NO communication from Standard Bank.

The gentleman who crashed into me after his brakes had failed, sincerely apologised and went to the extent of offering to pay for the excess fee for my insurance claim as it was HIS fault that I would be incurring this expense that I would not have otherwise incurred had it not been for his negligent driving, he even went as far as putting this down on paper and on voice record. Now the one time Standard Bank called me, it was also to inform me that I would personally have to pay for the excess fee for the insuarance claim, and that the gentleman who crashed into me is should and will not be paying for the excess fee.

Till thi svery day (28/09/16), a month after the accident, my car is still in repairs, and Standard Bank have barely had proper Communication and contact with me as a client. I am truly and utterly disappointed at the level of communication and Standard Banks handling of the situation, I do not consider myself better than any other client, but as a client who has 5 cars insured with Standard Bank, I strongly feel that the level of service I had received is far below standard.

Zam.
