Loyal Customer showed the door

I have been a loyal customer at Standardbank since 2007. Growing up always wanting my own place, finally I was presented the opportunity and bought my first place, after consolidating with my bank they were happy to give me my loan. (Thank you) After signing and buying my bank was addement that i do take insurance through them. I was a loyal customer and never had trouble with them so why not? For more than a year now i have paid my insurance every month. With no claims. After a rainstorm that the whole of South Africa experienced (except for Cape Town) I sadly informed them of waterdamage to my ceilings, and my floor. I never had these leaks until that rainstorm. There is a wall on the outside that also started cracking due to the wet foundation. After contacting them i had to wait two weeks before they can send someone out to come and have a look. Because they are too busy with all the claims they received due to the rainstorm. So now the ceilings are getting more damaged, the wooden floors are lifting more and the wall is leaning further and further over. But no problem my trustworthy bank will be in contact with me and we will get this sorted out Just be patient. No 2 months later, still not a word from them i decided to give them a call and get an update. Just to find out that "sorry sir none of that is covered". The ceiling no 1. Is not covered due to worn out waterproofing on the roof. The wooden floors no2. Is not covered due to the rain that leaked through the roof that has worn out water proofing. The wall no.3 is not covered beacause the wall is not built to the correct building regulations. Now I would like to ask standardbank, am I a builder or building regulator? You sent me a letter that all of these damages were covered by your insurance. NOWHERE does it state that it is not covered if your waterproofing is leaking or whatever. You valued my house at a certain price, now if the wall falls over and the ceiling and floors are left like that, are you still going to evaluate my house at the same price? No you are not. So now my property loses value due to your *********** policies on your insurance? This is utterly dissapointing and would advise EVERYONE to stay away from standardbank. I will move my homeloan and insurance. I am fed up with incompetance......
