Insurance refusing to pay

At the end of July Beginning of August in Glenmore Durban we experience severe rain and certain areas flooded including my house where the whole bottom level of our house was flooded as a result of the rain , when the rain subsided and we managed to get rid of some of the water and we noticed how much damage was actually left . We had severe damage to the carpet and to one wall which we later noticed had a huge whole in the wall where more rain could seep into the living room , as this whole was a new discovery and due to some noticable discouleration in the roof we decided to contact insurance to claim as water damage. The insurance took their time in sending an assesor out to view the damage only for them to send out the wrong type of assesor they sent out a carpet assesor instead of a building assesor to which my parents were annoyed and phoned insurance to which they responded and sent another assesor to see the damage made , only for the assesor to say that this is not caused from water damage but a pre-existing problem and that insurance will not pay for it , and as for the roof damage they will not pay for as it will cost less that R750. we have lived in this house for over 10 years now and this whole was never there it only occured during those heavy rains . It has now been over 2 months since we started the claim and have had no other information given to us regarding our claim .

the only information I have is:

Claim number is : 16/062668

Clearance Number : H ********** 421

for claim queies : ********** 112
