INSURANCE COVER - **** PROMISES

I took out household insurance together with my car insurance 'I remember asking i have a ring should i stipulate it separately NO the consultant says its covered as the value is under 5k No problem i only stipulate my phones I loose my ring and Now im told NO its not covered - OK so what happened to what i was told ? My access - i was never told that theres an extra amount payable should a claim arise before a year - i happen to hear this via a consultant on a windscreen claim

NOW WHY AM I SOLD ONE THING AND SOMETHING ELSE APP**** ?
