Insurance Claim Number: 20/083797

Claim Number: 20/083797 1. Claim lodged on +-14th October 2020 2. Contractor was appointed on 21st October 2020 As per the contractor, they were appointed to attend to the damages to the interior of the house only pending rectification of the roof by the homeowner (Munsamy) because of poor maintenance. 3. I advised the contractor that the roof leak is not due to poor maintenance but poor workmanship by a previous contractor appointed by Standard Bank. 4. This issue was attended to by standard bank on two previous occasions by contractors appointed by them. 5. The storm damage to the interior of the house which is the result of the roof is at the very same location of the house that was attended to by Standard Bank appointed contractor in 2019. 6. I contacted standard Bank and advised them that I am not responsible to rectify the roof because it was previously attended to by a contractor from Standard Bank and it seems that they did not rectify the problem. 7. Stanard Bank them appointed Appolo Construction to undertake an assessment of the claim only to discover that Appolo is based in Empangeni and I am in Durban. This clearly indicates that the consultant who appointed Appolo did not establish the contractors location. 8. I then contacted Standard Bank on the 4th of November and spoke with Vincent who advised that an alternate contractor will be appointed. 9. The alternate contractor was appointed and undertook the assessment on the 6th of November. 10. I contacted Standardard Bank Insurance on 11th November to ascertain status of claim and was advised by Ntombi that as per the report by the contractor who undertook the assessment on the 6ht of November, the cause of the issue is that the workmanship of the previous contractor was sub standard. She then advised that I should attend to the roof before Standard Bank can attend to the interior.

This comment by the consultant aggrieved me to the extreme because a contractor appointed by Standard Bank alluded to my concerns that the roof repairs due to previous storm damage was not repaired to spec.

The consultant then advised that an assessor will be appointed to assess the damages.

11. Today is the 25th of Nov and no one has contacted me with regarding the foregoing

12. a) spoke with consultant Lindi on 21 Oct b) spoke with consultant Felicity on 01 Nov c) spoke with Ntombi on 11th Nov d) spoke with two other consultants which records are not on hand but I am sure it will be on file with Standard Bank records.

The service with Standard Bank Insurance is absolutely shocking and their consultants require training on how to deal with customers.

Very Disappointed customer
