Insurance Claim
Further to the above I had an ongoing query with the claims department that they were meant to send to the procurement department with regard to the first company appointed to sort the carpets in my home as part of this claim. If you are not aware of the history here is a short breakdown:
Matheo Kabo flooring was initially appointed to complete the work on our floors. We then requested a quote from the Director of this company to replace the carpets in our other two bedrooms, which she provided. We then paid her for the work the amount of R 8 200 so all the be completed at the same time. She then kept putting off the installation and eventually we asked her to refund us our money so we could get someone else to do the work. Subsequent to asking for the refund we contacted your claims department and advised them of the issues we were experiencing and were duly informed that she retracted her services and was no longer going to be doing the work for the claim. We then tried to get our money back from here which proved to be quiet the mission and to this day she has only returned R 5000 of the money.
I have spoken to various people at your contact centre with regard to the above and none of them has been able to assist with the trying to contact this woman to get back our money. A few of the various people I spoke to promised to get back to me but never gave me any feedback on whether they managed to get hold of her or with any details of where we can get hold of her. We went to the physical address that was given to me by your call centre and it appeared to be a private residence and no one came out.
I asked on several occasions to speak to your procurement team about this supplier because I believe that the vetting of suppliers on the part of Standard Insurance limited is lacking or we would not have been put in a position where our claim was referred to someone who is clearly a ***** and I was of the opinion that your company would not be doing business with a company that is unable to complete work or keep to commitments but was never given the opportunity to do so.
I am to the point where my frustration with your company and the inability to provide feedback or properly explain anything to do with the above mentioned supplier is at a tipping point. Your company seems particularly uninterested in assisting me as a client and this is very disconcerting. I would appreciate it if someone at your company would actually do what they said and follow up with this supplier and provide me some sort of feedback or details of how I can get hold of them since they have now ghosted my husband and I and we are still out R 3 200 as a result of trusting that your company affiliates itself with trustworthy and reputable suppliers……
I have made several calls to the claims department, so has my husband regarding the above every one of them ending with the consultant we speak to assuring us that they will get back to us and provide us with feedback, but to date on a single call has materialized.
