Increasing premium without consent
I have been a Standard Bank customer for over 10 years and a few months back my funeral insurance was increased from R85 to R196 without my permission. I was told that all the increased debit orders cannot be reversed because the beneficiary is the one who increased it even though I never authorised such. Now why would Standard Bank do that when I'm the policy holder and I'm the only one paying it! It just doesn't make sense! I am currently unemployed and yet they still took my money like it was nothing and not feeling any remorse. This is by far the worst experience I have had with the bank I have trusted for so many years. I am even considering closing the account!
