*********** and misinforming Bank!

I am so pained by Standard bank service. I got retrenched from my job last year and even before i was in arreas with my access loan, i went to go enquire at mitchells plain standard bank branch as to how i go about notifying that i got retrenched. The consultant adviced that i should wait until i was in arreas and had handed over in order to report the retrenchment. I then left. After some time i returned back to the bank and told the consultant what i had said the last time i had been to the bank to which i was then told to call the call centre which i did. The guy on the other end of the phone adviced me to enquire if i have insurance on the loan and also give the branch which i was at proof of the retrenchment for them to keep under records. I did as adviced to which the consultant said they do not have a copier or scanner at the bank and do not keep such documents. They acted as if the guy i spoke to from their call centre told me jibberish and that what he suggested does not exist. I enquired if i do have insurance on the loan and was told i do not. I then left the bank. I tried making ends meet by trying to put something on my account. I then decided to visit a different branch of standard bank in town cbd. I wanted to enquire about the balace left on the loan. To which i was told is an amount which showed that i had interest added on the loan thus no difference had been made out of all the months i had paid, instead, the loan was more than what i had initially loaned from the bank. I enquired about this and as the consultant gave me a breakdown, i was so shocked to see that i actually did have insurance on the loan. I then quickly brought the consultant to speed with my past experiences with standard bank and he was genuinely shocked and immediately pulled out insurance forms saying the insurance does help in the instance of retrenchment. he assisted me accordingly in filling out the forms and asked for all the necessities to be able to forward the claim. Days later i recieved a call from the insurance people saying they just need confirmation from my previous job. They said thats all thats left for them to approve the claim. They then called my previous work only to find that HR was not available. I was told that my cIaim is pending. I then made the necessary call to my previous workplace to tell them to expect the call. They adviced that HR would be back at work after a certain date. On the date that HR came back, I went back to the bank to enquire, they put me through to insurance and the lady told me that they have put my case as priority and will call my work and call me back to tell me the outcome. I waited and nothing happened. I then went again to the bank weeks later and told them of my ordeal. They put me through to insurance again and a lady by the name of Phind told me that they will call again and notify me. To this day i am still waiting and heavily disturbed that i have been handed over to RL Daly lawyers as all the up and down i was doing trying to control my situation seems like was in vain because of the incompetency and misinformation from standard bank employees. I am crying out for help as this bank has frustrated me to hell and back!! I have been trying to keep up to date with the account by giving what i could... its been hard but instead of the amount getting less, it just keeps piling up. It got so bad i asked the bank's consultant what happens in the case that my balance is just increasing whilst im waiting for insurance to come back to me, and she just told me to wait it out yet the loan is just expanding more and more!! I still have not found a job and am having so much difficulty yet all the previous payments seem like they havent even been made!! I have been dealing with this issue since last year!
