INCOMPETENCE: FAMILY STILL DESISTUTE A MONTH AFTER FIRE
I write on behalf of Mr Neville Phillips, who has experienced nothing but issues since his house burnt down on 26 May 2024.
Mr Phillips is unable to send an email himself, because of the fire's devastation, but he is copied on this email, and can be contacted on: ***
All his information: Mr Neville Phillips ID: *** Contact Number: *** Address: Legokobus East Field, Ext 6, Vosloorus,1475 Standard Bank Home Loan: ***
Mr Phillips was recently widowed, so the severity of the damage to the home, and the losses experienced by him and his children, are only further being compounded by the INEPT assistance from your representative, Dikgang Mosime.
1. Mr Phillips lodged his Claim# 24/040752 on 27 May 2024. 2. He has been VERY POORLY assisted by Dikgang Mosime of Standard Bank - contact number *** 3. Mr Phillips has such extensive damage to his home that his school-going children have lost everything, and what is left is all damaged. 4. Mr Phillips has been forced to fix the electricals himself, so long, in order to keep the family going, because the promises of payment from Mr Mosime have not resulted in ANY funds as yet. 5. NO FUNDS have flowed from this claim. It is a month. A month of no clothing for his children. A month of cold in a damaged home. 6. Mr Phillips needs his claim / insurance funds to be paid out ASAP so that he can fix his home, be refunded for the electricals and replace his children's school clothing, home clothing and all their necessities.
Surely this is unacceptable?
If no resolution is found with you this week, Mr Phillips will be taking this to the Ombudsman, as well as anyone willing to listen and publish the severity of the situation that his little family has been left in, as well as the absolute failure of Standard Bank to assist.
Please respond to Mr Phillips as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
I will follow up with Mr Phillips tomorrow to see if he has been assisted.
This is a serious matter. There isn't another month's leeway.
His children are suffering, and he is fighting to provide for them.

Mr Phillips has noted that a contractor has come out, but this was not the query.
THIS part of the process was ALREADY completed with your grossly inept appointed contractor / employee, Mr Mosime.
The crux, to be clear (because there appears to be confusion):
1. WHERE is the process at present? Because it was communicated that they were at funds flow and repair stage. However, here you are sending out contractors?
2. The house is OPEN. Open to the elements, because of the fire. Children are thus exposed to the elements. Surely there is a better way than starting the ENTIRE process over again? Or was nothing done?
3. Do you have all the documentation from Mr Mosime?
4. Mr Phillips conveyed yesterday that he is UNEMPLOYED because he ONLY gets paid WHEN he works. Due to the sudden and untimely death of his wife, followed by this fire, Mr Phillips is sitting without ANY means to make emergency repairs to the home / replace anything that his children need now.
5. Mr Phillips conveyed that he had to give his last funds in order to ensure that they had electricity because THIS wasn't even done as yet, a month down the line, and Mr Mosime had promised that he would have payment by Monday 24 June. It is now Thursday 27 June.
6. Mr Mosime has to go to a job on Monday. He has no funds, whatsoever, because he paid out for the repair of the electrical himself. As mentioned in point 5. He also conveyed this to the consultant who called him yesterday afternoon.
7. The children are due to go back to school on 9 July. They have no clothing, bags, books etc. And no funds are available, due to this delay.
It is cold. Imagine for a moment this is your situation. You just lost your wife. Your children are not only without BUT also exposed to the cold.
Their suffering is real.
Mr Phillips needs to know if a) he is being paid out and will handle all the repairs himself, which he is happy to do and waiting to do OR b) is Standard Bank paying out the necessary and commencing with repairs now?
Please keep this in mind in your processes, because our concern is that everything is starting over and there IS NOT another month to do this in.
There need to be results by Monday.
There isn't time left to start everything again.

TO DATE:
1. No one has come forth with the refund for Mr Phillips = which Mr Mosime promised Mr Phillips would get back within 24 hours. LAST WEEK. And a consultant assured him that he would have assistance. NOTHING.
2. You have sent a 2nd contractor. That's it.
Mr Phillips has NO CHOICE now but to go the Ombudsman and Complaints Commission to pursue this, because Standard Bank Insurance has failed him and his children. left in the literal cold, coming in from the damaged house, with no clothes for schooling and no refund to get to work.
You have done absolutely nothing that Mr Phillips so graciously asked for and gave you the opportunity to assist him with, now more than a MONTH LATER.
No resolution with regards to the INEPT Standard Bank Insurance Employee.
We will be posting the Ombudsman and Complaints Commission references here.
We will also hit Social Media, far and wide, to make sure everyone understands just how ineffective Standard Bank Insurance is.
