Hooe you never have to engage Standard Bank Insurance

They say insurance is a grudge purchase and you must have it - until you need it.

I recently had storm (wind) and water damage and submitted claim to Standard Bank Insurance. This is the first time in more than 25 years that I submitted a claim. If my experience is anything to go by then I shudder to think what other people’s experience is with claims.

It is my view that assessors and contractors on Standard Bank Insurance approved list is there not because of merit but because of other reasons. This is evident from the lack of proper communication from these Assessors and Contractors, not keeping to agreed date and time to inspect (that is if they contact you at all), delay in responding, lack of knowledge as to the substance of claim.
