HONOURING Debits - what a ****

I have had a Std bank account since 2008, and in the last 3 or so years, taken out a funeral policies. I have not, until now, had any issues with my debit orders bouncing. This month, my salary cleared a little later in the day, but Std bank had tried debiting before that, so it was returned. Std bank tried again on THE SAME DAY and it went through. I thought that all was in order, but no. The next day, i get debited over R300 for HONOURING Debits!. i went in to a branch to try and have these reversed, only to be told that if i do that, i would be in arrears! how can that be if the debits were processed and paid SUCCESSFULLY the day before. I am extremely appalled at the ********** service from them, especially since i have been a loyal client for over a decade.
