HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH INSURANCE

I cannot express enough how utterly useless Standard Bank as an entity is. Their motto of Simpler, Better, Faster clearly does not live up to what it should stand for.

Firstly: I have purchased a home which was registered in Oct 2021. With the repo rate changing every so often my installment has increased month on month since inception date. However no one from Std Bank has ever communicated any increase to me at any given time. Rather I get a call towards the middle or end of the following month from Std Bank stating that I am in arrears due to non payment. This is due to the installment being increased and me not being informed timeously. Std Bank needs to up their game in keeping their customers informed. This has happened to me more than 6 times already in the space of under 1 year.

Secondly: I have also taken out home insurance with Std Bank upon the purchase of my property and have now canceled it due to their lack of empathy towards my claim post they heavy downpours experienced in KZN in July. My home had minor damages on the roof, ceiling boards and gutters and the lamp excuse of it being wear and tear which clearly was not the case was slapped in out faces as to why our claim was declined. A question for you Std Bank, don't you think I would have had these damages on previous downpours before the July flooding?

Lastly: Upon sending a letter to cancel my home insurance, they request a letter and 30 days notice. I have sent the letter through on 29th Aug 2022, it is now 7 days later and I still have not recieved a follow up email or regarding this matter. All they do is send these stupid automated emails and expect you to wait for the rest. I have had to follow up time and time again and still no response. I am officially done with this useless establishment.

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, QUICK TO TAKE PEOPLESOL MONEY BUT CANNOT DELIVER. UTTERLY AND PATHETICALLY USELESS. I WILL NEVER SUPPPORT THIS BANK EVER AGAIN. I HAVE CANCELED MY INSURANCE AND WILL BE SWITCHING OVER MY BOND
