Geyser drama
I have had three years worth of hell and grey hairs with Standard Bank Home Insurance. I bought a house which still has the original copper geyser, and with the amount of maintenance and quick fixes I've had to do I'm wondering what's the whole point of having insurance. I've only done 2 of the jobs through insurance simply because they either never give you a claim number or the plumbers they send are useless. In my personal capacity I've spent almost enough money to replace the geyser with a new, compliant one. Every time it's a 'new thing' that will solve all my problems. What will it take for them to replace a system that is so badly out of spec? Do they even understand the issue and the resulting stress/cost implications/inconvenience? Perhaps they simply don't care, as long as they get their monthly premiums paid on time.
