********** debit order
I bought my very first house in the beginning of 2015.Standard bank did my bond.More than 2 years later I received an sms from standard bank on the 20th of July 2017.On the sms it shows that I was been debited R722.25 per month for a home owners insurance premium.I then contacted my insurance broker and requested a quote from them as I thought that this was a lot of money which I didn't even realize was coming off my account as they included it in one large amount that was been debited every month. My brokers PA requested that I ask standard bank for a insurance policy schedule that I had signed for so they could quote accurately and compare apples with apples. When I contacted Standard bank and spoke to them I was told I never had a policy in place but they could see I was been debited each month. The lady said that I was due for a full refund (recorded conversation) provided I get cover in place with my own insurance company which is Discovery. Standard bank sent an independent assessor out which valued the property. I put cover in place and sent the proof to various departments as standard bank then kept coming up with the excuse that my cover wasn't in place. Finally they accepted the cover and said I would be refunded but this never happened.Countless recorded calls and e mails to Eden Fynn and Rita Chamberlain has resulted in nothing been done except now they saying there is no refund due. Some of the mails state there was no policy in place and others state there was.Yet amazingly my debited order has automatically decreased by the exact insurance amount in question since I started to query them.So where is my original signed Schedule ? Where did my money go to? Why the different responses from Standard bank? Why is the matter been shrugged off ? Why am I not been refunded ? I have all my proof in writing and recorded conversations which I sent to Eden Fynn and Rita Chamberlain of Standard Bank yet nothing is been done.I am extremely upset about this and will not rest till the matter is resolved to my satisfaction as its my money that was taken **********ly since the inception of my bond.
