FORCED TO USE THEIR OWN REPAIRERS

***. I had an accident on the 31/10/2017, I logged a claim with STD Bank the following day & they advised me that my claims handler will call me after 48 hours. That never happened. I took my car to their assessment center and the assessment was done. My claim was authorized on 08/11/2017 via sms & then my claim handler finally called to advise about the authorization. I advised him that I do not want to use the recommended repairers as I know that the quality of their work is not spot on & I would like to use my own repairer. He told me flat out NO... Am I then FORCED to use their repairers even though I know that a lot of people complain about the panel beater? Don't I have a choice to use my own panel beater? It is not written on my policy schedule that I am obligated to use their panel beaters. I requested a quote to be sen to me & some of the things quoted are not damaged or need repairs. They are inflating their quotes because they know that the insurance will pay as we are forced to use them. I requested photos that were taken, but i'm still waiting.
