false advertising

I have standard bank insurance for as long as I can remember and all this time, I was under the impression that I am covered for home assistance, eg plumbers, electricians...etc.... obviously for small issues/ claims ...….I called wanting to claim for electrical fault in one of the rooms.....and I was told I am not covered for that....I was told that it only applies to kitchen plugs....or something like that
