Does Standardbank Insurance still exist?
Since 21 September 2020, I have been trying to get Standardbank Insurance to correct details on my house insurance, so I can lodge a claim on line. Or alternatively I requested them to lodge a claim from their side and fix the incorrect details. The only responses were automated responses. I complained about that, and received an automated response stating that they appologise for my inconvenience and an agent will contact me within 24 hours. The mail I received was an automated mail with my policy details and rules attached. I complained about that too and I received a response from a Standardbank Insurance Complaint department's (to whom I addressed the e-mail) employee requesting my details in order to follow up on my complaint. I have sent that and is still awaiting a response. This was the 29th of October 2020 and the excuse was - quote: "I do not have access of a phone due working remotely however I can try with capturing a claim." This while I am communicating via e-mail. During this time period I have also complained with my personal banker at Standardbank and the matter was passed on and she gave me details of the complaints department. Apparently this was also not responded to. Why am I paying a monthly insurance policy fee if I am not able to claim or to speak to anybody In that department? Is the Home loan Insurance department still in business? Who do I complain to when the complaints department can't or doesn't want to help? The corona virus epidemic has influenced a lot of processes, but I am still paying a monthly fee for the original services.
