DENIED RETRENCHMENT COVER DUE TO COVID 19

My wife had lost her job due to COVID 19 and her application for retrenchment cover with our home loan protection plan with Standard Bank was denied simply because she was 1 month shy of completing the 12 month waiting period according to the policy. We were told by the agent that there was absolutely nothing she could do! How does the policy cover an unforeseen international pandemic? She lost her job only because of COVOD 19. Now we have to put our home on the market because we wont be able to pay the bond payments, meanwhile we still have to pay for the insurance that denied her cover!

Absolutely ridiculous service and wont recommend anyone going with Standard Bank home loans as you might not be protected if you lose your job. COVID 19 could be here for the next couple of years, imagine all the people that have home loans and lose there jobs now due to the pandemic.

We even put in a complaint and mind you it has been almost 2 weeks and no response what's so ever
