Delay in cancellation

I requested a cancellation on my building insurance policy with Standard Bank. This was done on the 18th January for the end of February, more than the 30 days notice required. I was contacted by someone in the cancellations department via telephone that all documents received were in order, and that the cancellation will be processed for the end of February.

However, I was debited on the 1 March despite the cancellation being processsed and given confirmation of this.

I contacted the call centre and was notified that the cancellation was not completed as Standard banks interest was not noted in my new insurance policy. This requirement was not mentioned in any telephone conversation or email received from the Standard bank Insurance department.

Upon sending the updated documentation, I have still not been refunded for the insurance premium. The insurance premium is currently debited to my home loan account, which means there has been interest accruing on the account for a premium I have not been liable for.

I have contacted the call centre for a third time now, and no one bothers to give me any feedback on the matter. The agent dealing with the cancellation hasn't rep**** to my emails either.

The service received from Standard Bank Insurance is completely unacceptable, and this is not the first occurance of such poor customer service.
