Contractor misleading me by saying he was the assessor from Std Insurance - Why is this allowed?
HLC19/002061 - logged a claim on Friday as my energiser had been giving problems got worse over time & with the assistance of EC Security who I contribute to in Dec18, the Power Supply was replaced & as a safety precaution so was the battery. Things seemed fine until the same problem started 2 weeks ago and then this past Thursday night, the noise on the keypad was incessant and eventually disconnected the energiser. The claim was logged on the website & there was sms's. I do not always have my cell with me so I miss sms's. This morning received a call from Jack who said he was the assessor from Standard Insurance & he came through. I told him about the ongoing issues and repairs etc & that I wanted EC to do the installation as they would have to be called in anyway to do whatever to connect to their control room. I found his comments strange about why not use Standards people etc etc. He also didn't have any equipment with him to properly test anything which was strange. A short while ago I read my sms's & googled the cell number Jack called from & he is from K&R Home Security which also cleared up the question when I trashed Zain from Staffix Randburg who he claims to know. The electric fence is connected to EC Security 24/7 via the house alarm & under no circumstances would I disconnect it unless absolutely necessary. Jack took photos & said I would be notified within 24 to 48 hours. He didn't take any photos of the energizer when it was disconnected either. I was also very clear that it wasn't a 24/7 issue but there was definitely something wrong with the energizer because everything else had been replaced. Why would Jack mislead me as to which company he is representing because at no time did he mention K&R. EC Security staff undergo lie detector tests every 6 months & I specifically don't want strangers to know anything about my security or property layout.
