Claim Submitted in December 2025, Still Not Finalised FEBRUARY 2026
I am beyond frustrated with the level of service received from Standard Bank Insurance.
A claim was submitted in December. It is now months later and it has still not been finalised.
We have:
Called the allocated consultant, Lutendo Ndou, multiple times.
Sent numerous follow-up emails.
Attempted repeatedly to obtain a clear update.
There has been no accountability, no proactive communication, and no meaningful progress.
Being ignored for months on an active insurance claim is unacceptable. If something is outstanding, communicate it clearly. If the claim is being processed, provide a timeline. Silence is not service.
This experience has been exhausting and entirely avoidable.
We are now formally requesting:
A clear written update on the status of the claim
Confirmation of what is outstanding (if anything)
A firm finalisation date
Escalation to a senior manager
Insurance exists for when clients need support. This has been the opposite of that.
We expect urgent intervention.

Just as a note, dear reader, our claim is for damaged solar power, our home is reliant on borehole water that uses the solar to pump, we have a 1 year old baby in our care, myself and my daughter work from home and reliable electricity and water is essential to our livelihood, and all the while Standard Bank Insurance ( Rather Mediocre at best Insurance) ghosts us like they have some personal vendetta with our basic needs, we await further communication, and pray that we might get something of meaning, we are not hopeful as all calls, emails and messenger ***eons have not produced any useful communication on expected resolution timeline.
