Claim still not Finalised

9th of November 2016 House was damaged by floods due to a wall collapsing across from us and creating a inrush of water, we have two separate insurance providers one is for contents and Standard Bank is for Building and Fixtures, Logged a claim and Standard bank appointed several contractors from their own panel of preferred suppliers.
1. Building Contractor arrived on 10th November 2016
2. Cupboard Contractor arrived on 11th November 2016
3. Electrical Contractor arrived on 12th of November 2016 and again on 29th of November 2016 (due to not completing the work the first time round)
4. Standard Bank Assessor arrived on 14th of November 2016 (due to the extent of the damage based on what Building Contractor and Cupboard Contractor advised)
5. Carpet Contractor arrived on 15th November 2016
6. Second Cupboard Contractor arrived on 23rd November 2016
7. Pool Contractor arrived on 28th November 2016
8. No one was appointed for Electric gate Motor or alarm system which was affected by the water
Assessor who arrived on Monday the 14th of November 2016 verified the damage and advised us that it is considered catastrophic and is under control and we need not worry, he provided us with his business card ti call in event any issues or concerns.
1. Building contractor started work after authorisation on 18th of November 2016 and is nearly finished
2. Electrician had to come out twice (Waited for authorisation twice one is for Plugs which tripped and when one outside light was switched on it also tripped) Incomplete work
3. Carpet Contractor received authorisation 17th November 2016 and is waiting for Cupboard and Builders to complete their work
4. Pool Contractor has started repairs 30th November 2016 after receiving authorisation
5. Electric Gate motor was replaced and alarm system was repaired out of our own pocket
Issue is that the first appointed cupboard contractor assessed the damage and advised us that it was major we followed up and as Standard bank did not provide feedback the contractor did and advised he is waiting for authorisation.
Due to lack of feedback we made contact and were advised that another Cupboard contractor from Standard Bank panel of preferred suppliers was appointed on the 16th of November 2016 and after obtaining details made contact and they came out on 23rd of November 2016.
Due to no feedback from standard bank we followed up with second Cupboard Contractor and was advised that they have submitted their report and proposal and are waiting for authorisation. We have contacted standard bank and still waiting.

We have damaged cupboards in each room of the house as water was approximately 600mm deep due to flood and now that the building contractor is nearly finished still no news on the cupboards (Building Contractor advised that they need to patch up and paint where cupboards are as water damage. Floor company is waiting for cupboards to be completed before they can continue and we are having no feedback from the assessor (His phone is off), we contact Standard Bank daily and they advise they are waiting for approval from the assessor.
The Household contents insurance company has already settled the claim and the delivery of the new furniture is put on hold until floors are complete (we do not want to damage the furniture to carry in and out so that the damaged cupboards can be replaced and the floors can be done

I have in the meantime obtained my own quotation from an independent Cupboard contractor and wow I will need to dig deep very deep into my pockets to do the repairs.

Why am I paying a premium to cover me in event of damage and now we are waiting
