Claim not paid by STD bank

I registered a claim with Standard Bank for a gate motor , I claimed from my building insurance and it has never been paid. I have sent everything that they asked for and now they asking me was it rain water, storm water or burst pipe?. How am I suppose to know that? When the damage report says its fungus and fungus is not built up in one rain or something.
