Cession Release Letter

To whom it may concern,

I called in to the customer service centre and spoke to a lady from the Standard Bank Life Cover division (particularly, a division that deals with mortgage protection cover) and requested the following:

I currently have a mortgage protection policy with both Standard Bank and with another insurer, BetterLife (administered by Hollard Life). However then, I called BetterLife earlier on today to request to cancel their policy because of other personal reasons and would keep the one with Standard Bank. So BetterLife required a that I fill in a cancellation form, write a note with a reason for my cancellation and obtain a Cession Release Letter from Standard Bank. I immediately knew that my life was going to get difficult.

So I explained this to the lady, who responded that there is no such agreement between Standard Bank and BetterLife, that would require Standard Bank to write me a cession release letter. But then I then asked the lady that she write that into that letter - that there is no need for Standard Bank to release a session release letter. She refused.

Now I know that I will be going back and forth - I do not understand how difficult it is to just write a simple note that Standard Bank did not make any cession agreement against bond with BetterLife so I can cancel my policy with BetterLife. She also refused to provide me with a copy of the recording of the call that we had and I have a right to obtain that recording should I have to undergo legal action.

I require from Standard Bank either of the following:
A copy of the recording of the call I had with this customer service agent on 22 February 2017 around the 9th hour of the day in the morning. Or a letter stating clearly that there is no need to provide a cession release letter to BetterLife for my bond account and stating the reason for that.
