Can't get House Insurance Issue Sorted Out

I had my bond with Standardbank (Bond Account No: ********** 27: ********** 620). A few years ago I paid off my bond. Since then I regularly received updated policy documents regarding the insurance on my house. I also made a claim and it was paid without any hesitation.

In May 2016 I enquired on how the annual payment for the house insurance is paid as I could not remember anything going off from my Absa account. Mr. John Makhubela from the Insurance Department emailed me and rep**** by saying that my annual payment of R437.04 will be going off against my bond account. I was lost as I already paid off my bond so I was not sure where the amount is coming from. Several emails were going on between myself and Mr. Makhubela. He confirmed that my insurance policy on the house is still active and will only be cancelled when I fetch my title deed. I’m lost – now that my bond is paid off, do I need to fetch the title deed? I asked him what will happen if my house burn down and he rep**** that I may have a problem then. I again asked on how the annual payment for the house insurance was paid but he had no answer for me.

I’m extremely worried and would like to know how this can be sorted out. I must say that Mr. John Makhubela was very helpful but could unfortunately not provide me with the relevant answers.

I really would like to get this sorted out for once and for all.
