Building Contractors Not Responsible

<p>I do not have the energy to explain in detail the grief I have with this lot, I only want to set things straight.</p> <p>THE BUILDING CONTRACTOR IS NEVER, EVER AT FAULT !!!</p> <p>Here's why;</p> <p>You are insured</p> <p>**** happens {e.g. my front door was viciously attacked during a burglary}</p> <p>A claim for the damage is submitted to Standard Bank Insurance</p> <p>An Assessor is sent to assess the damages</p> <p>Building Contractor/s are requested to submit a price to repair/replace damages that occurred</p> <p>{remember, insurance should place you in the same position you were before the **** happened}</p> <p>The Insurer appoints a Building Contractor </p> <p>The Building Contractor completes the work</p> <p>----------------------------------------------------------</p> <p>HERE IS WHERE THE SYSTEM HITS THE FAN:</p> <p>1) A COMPETENT INSPECTOR SHOULD INSPECT THE WORK DURING AND AFTER COMPLETION TO ENSURE THAT THE WORK IS FINISHED OFF AND OF THE SAME QUALITY AS IT WAS BEFORE THE DAMAGES OCCURRED</p> <p>2) IF THE WORK WAS PERFORMED SATISFACTORILY, THE COMPETENT INSPECTOR SIGNS IT OFF</p> <p>3) AFTER THE WORK HAS BEEN SIGNED OFF BY THE COMPETENT INSPECTOR, THE CONTRACTOR SUBMITS HIS INVOICE TO STANDARD BANK INSURANCE FOR PAYMENT</p> <p>----------------------------------------------------------</p> <p>Let's go back to</p> <p>The Building Contractor finishes his contract</p> <p>Someone takes a 'look' at the work and signs it off</p> <p>The Building Contractor gets paid and hides under a rock</p> <p>Then the rains come and the door swells until it is wedged into the frame</p> <p>When it has dried enough the door shrinks and is released from the door frame</p> <p>So you take a closer look and find the Building Contractor imports materials from China.</p> <p>Well . . .
