Avoid Standard Bank Home Insurance

I strongly advise against using Standard Bank for home insurance. Each year, they increase my premium by an outrageous 35% without any prior notice. It’s absurd, and dealing with them is a nightmare – you’ll need to spend an hour on the phone just to negotiate it back down.

I was seriously considering moving all my personal and business banking to Standard Bank, but this experience has completely put me off. They come across as opportunistic, like many other banks. A simple notification about the premium hike would have been appreciated, but even that courtesy was missing.
