I took a bond with Standard Bank Home Loans in 1999 for a house that cost R170.000. I requested an advance of R250. 000 in addition to the R170.00 that I owed the bank in 2006. The total debt I owed the bank increased to R420.000. When I fell into hard times, I decided to go under debt review and my counsellor was Tofic of DC and Partners Counsellors. I have been making regular payments to the bank and learned that my home insurance was also increased from R198.26 per month to R5000. 00 per month.This was done without my consent. I have resigned from my position as an educator in 2020 though I am the sole breadwinner in my family and a mother of a 31 year old daughter who has mental disability and requires 24 hour care. I subsequently paid a sum of R3000.00 in addition to the monthly instalments that I never failed to pay since 1999. My debt counsellor, Tofic form DC and Partners has disappeared. The banks is not giving me a satisfactory answer regarding how a house that was bonded for R420.000 could still not be paid up. I have been informed that I still owe the bank and amount of R382464,33 as of the 04/05/22. I have had to agree to new terms of payment in order to have a shelter for my daughter and myself.

In 2020 the National Credit Regular found against the debt counselor named Laeeqah Coe witnessed by Mohamed Bardien. Laeeqah has disappeared. I would greatly appreciate an opinion on this matter.
