Any excuse not to honour claim
After the heavy rains in June/July 2024, my coping of pool fell in, which caused damage to my pool.I got an independent quote from a Swimming pool Installer and the damage was stated to be because of the heavy rains as well as water table. Stansure rejected the claim, and said we had to install a French pump, even though this is not a requirement and no one in my neighbourhood has this installed. I also attached the necessary quote/pictures : The pool was lifted above the ground to ensure the water table does not affect it. The pool was thus raised 60 centimetres above the original ground level and back filled.(I attached all pictures and original ground level.) 2. The damage happened suddenly, after the recent rains which caused the coping to fall in. 3. From my communication it was said that pools are not allowed in my area, even though there are several pools in my street alone. 4. The qualifications of the assessor have not been verified for these types of inspections, as my independent assessments stated the damage is due to the high inflow of the rainwater.
I was really disappointed with Stansure , their lack of feedback on this claim as well as their assessments which is not backed up by relevant proof, just a statement from some guy who only asked me few questions. No inspection were done.
I have send the pictures that the pool was lifted above ground when installed, so there is no need for a French drain, as the under water table had no effect on it. The damage only came through the storms. There is also no regulation specifying a french drain to be installed.
I will thus be taking the matter further.
