8 WEEK delayed response to claim lodged!!!

We were hit by the Tornado on the 9th October. Part of our roof (tiles) was **********, windows were smashed by large hail and flying debris, outbuilding roofs were stripped bare, fences destroyed, thatch roofs sliced by flying debris, house ceilings collapsed, skylights destroyed, and 23 large trees completely uprooted leaving large holes and no exit on our road for safety. Rain water pours in through the skylights. Debris lies all over the farm 12 phone calls later and numerous e mails finally brought the first assessor, no emergency repair, a stark warning that if we tried to fix anything that costs over R2000 they would not help. We had to beg for assessors of which 5 were sent out with very poor results. They remain almost uncontactable for progress reports: (I'm 'Too busy'). A patch job was done with plastic sheets I had to purchase to cover the house with tiles holding them down. to cover the contents of the house. Some repairs have been done. The debris/trees prevents repairs to the building roof as they covers fences and roofs. One assessor said "Between us Standard bank has no intention of helping you." Neighbours were helped by their insurance company 'Old Mutual' with 24 hours and total repairs down with a week together with debris all removed. The holes left by uprooted trees on our farm pose a huge danger for cars or pedestrians. They have made an offer for some of the repairs only now. We are exposed to the elements still. Promises of contact, e mails and assessors do not come to fruition.
