5 years paying for cover I believed was life insurance.
I took out a cover in 2021, after receiving several calls about the policy. I agreed to it believing I was taking out life cover, and I have been paying my premiums ever since. I recently discovered that the policy is actually accidental cover. I requested the call recordings and received them. I acknowledge that in one recording the consultant mentions accidental cover, but because I received several calls and of how the cover was presented, I genuinely understood that I was taking out life cover. My biggest concern is why am I only discovering this after so many years of paying. I am also very concerned because I had life cover with them in 2015,which I cancelled after about 5 years and lost the money I had paid into it. Now after paying premiums since 2021 iam facing the possibility of having paid Standard bank for 10 years in total without having the life cover I believe I had.If I do not die as a result of an accident, this accidental cover may not provide the protection I believed I was paying for. This is why I feel strongly that the matter nerds to be reviewed fairly, especially considering my genuine understanding when I agreed to the cover in 2021.
