0860 123 ... Hours and hours holding

<p>Dear Peter ,</p> <p> </p> <p>my garden worker lost his whole salary due to unauthorized insurance premiums deducted by std bank medical/health insure between 24 April and 2 May 2017. </p> <p>It is now 25th May.</p> <p> </p> <p>it went like this.</p> <p>On 2 May he paid for a taxi to go into town to enquire. He was told that the local branch can only cancel the insurance, but to get a refund he must phone standard bank insure.</p> <p> </p> <p>On 4 May I took him back to the branch to get a full bank statement. We were advised to fax the statement to Shonifani at some 0860 number, which we did at the cost of R16.00.</p> <p> </p> <p>we phoned standard bank insure on a daily basis and got hold of Shonifani on 18 May, after phoning and holding and being transferred everywhere. Shonifani informed us that he only received the fax on 16 May?</p> <p> </p> <p>he nevertheless undertook to take care of this urgently and come back to Mr Ngema before the end of business.</p> <p> </p> <p>on Monday 22 May Shonifani did phone Mr Ngema, informing him that the refund was approved and that he would receive the refund no later than Tuesday 23 May.</p> <p> </p> <p>here we are, I am reluctant to pay his salary into his emptied out bank account with no refund in it.</p> <p> </p> <p>what is it going to take to get the refund ? Is he going to be refunded at all? </p> <p> </p> <p>Mr Ngema had to borrow money from everyone he knows to get through the month. He showed up for work. And still, we have to listen to Standard Banks's stupid voice recordings for hours ... Not being able to speak to Shonifani.</p> <p> </p> <p>help us please!</p> <p> </p> <p>mrs Hofmeyr </p>
