Cancellation of Insurance Cover for Home Loan

Please note that I have made numerous calls to Standard Bank Homeloan Insurance to cancel my building insurance. Eventually after spending much wasted time and energy on calling and emailing various departments and speaking to different people, my insurance cover was cancelled one month early and I was left without cover!!

After reverting back to my Householders Insurance company they wanted to enquire why I was uninsured for the month of October as they received a cancellation letter from Standard Bank Home Loan Insurance, through my email, stating that I will be covered up to 30th September instead of 31st October. After making further calls to the Homeloan department I was promised that I would be reinstated with insurance cover for the month of October, but alas the debit order only went through for my bond repayment and the building insurance has still NOT been debited. I am desperate to get this problem sorted out timeously as my Householders Insurance is waiting to consolidate my premium from 1 November with Householders, vehicle and Building insurance in one policy.

I am promised that the representative will call me since yesterday, 2nd October but no one has contacted me!! I have now received a call from Keabetswe Thalakgale who has put me through to the Homeowners department. I spoke to Lindo who then lost the call!! This was at 11h45 this morning.

The service is appalling and I have had a bond with Standard Bank Homeloan for many years.
