The Little Known Gem of Stadium
Purely because I stopped outside, as I walked past the 1st restaurant, I noticed their toastie cost and thought to myself 'damn that's good' (last seen 20 years ago). When I was done;elsewhere, I went in and ordered. Wow! Just what my taste buds liked. So when I saw another, I gave it a try too. Their 3/4 egg omelette was ridiculously priced, filled with my filling & very forfilling. Again my taste buds did their happy dance. The 2nd restaurant is near a township, seeing as SA eats so much chicken, it's surprising to note that Stadiums drive through is busier than KFC's. That is evidence of the popularity of this chain. In SA in today's world, food costs have rocketed, so it is with respect that I congratulate the family for their respect of common folk and not ripping the r's out of the chicken by being gluttonously greedy like the bulk of the industry. The fare is well prepared with genuine beef (not like pseudo 'Scottish' or 'horned' burger takeouts where the meat is more suited to being used for packaging, than edible foodstuffs.) prepared patties. The chicken bacon all well prepared and tasty, using fresh breads that only a Portuguese recipe can make as great. Best of all is the staff employed is respectfull and helpfull. The stores are clean & functional. Without being garish like the Famous Brands restaurants (M&B, Wimpy etc.who incidentally have wrecked every restaurant chain acquired, in the name of greed thereby making them unaffordable and are undoubtedly the sole culprits for forcing such industry increases, especially with their tooth-rot coffee. Or by taking a lovely family owned chain, making it bling and decreasing the portions which made it famous). The stadium seating is more than adequate with wheel chair access and parking. My hats off to the Franchisors of this chain. Please never never sell to Famous Brands! As you've done over the years pass it down to family so that you can keep giving the industry a shock of what a successful restaurant can charge, be profitable, serve wholesum food, and still be more popular than a KFC! All I ask is that you ghost survey your Franchisees often? The old saying applies 'success breeds contempt'. It would be a tragedy for your stores to have a seemingly good owner who is haughty because of the upbringing his parents afforded him. This was resultant in inexcusable behaviour from another family chain in Jhb. A shock to the Franchisor who had known the individual for years, then to find out he behaved as a spoilt brat in business. All the very best
