Took my money and a month later still no confirmation of my trip

I requested a quote as i have travelled with STA travel before and they were very good and made an enjoyable experience, a lady by the name of Ashleigh Bonelle assisted me she was helpful and accommodating, i accepted the quote and paid R2000 to secure the booking, a couple of days later which was way before 90 days notice i informed Ashleigh that life had happened and we needed to move houses so wouldnt be able to make the date as that same month we needed to move, she then responded with no problem at all she will check options and get back to me with no indication of potential fees payable as i have notified her way before 90days. a few months had gone and i received an email from Ashleigh asked for the rest of the payment?? i then reminded her of our last discussion to which she responded saying no problem she will again get back to me with a package (Still having my R2000) i then get a package from her that increased by R5000.00! i immediately objected had she told me about this when i first brought it to her attention we could have been able to make an informed financial decision to leave the trip as is or not, she did not advise us accordingly! after many many arguments i asked to either refund me my R2000.00 and i will book again when the time is right as we have JUST moved houses which is already so stressful but feel under pressure to now travel as we have already paid a deposit or do a better quote or arrange a meeting with me and their management ..she finally said that she will review the package and came back with a more reasonable deal still keeping my R2000 and needing me to pay another R2000 but still reasonable deal which conveniently left out transfers to and from all ports at the destination thank God i had checked this and emailed her for clarification, its now been 1 month and 4 days with another email asking for clarification and no response. what started off a pleasant and what should be a pleasant experience to travel has now become such a nightmare. i can understand the lack of professionalism now as they have my R2000.00 for free so i expected to me ignored like this. i find this extremely unprofessional, unsympathetic due to the situation and rude. i wont leave this trust me... this is the start of many complaints until i get a reasonable outcome. in fact i no longer feel the need to deal with such people for such a huge amount of money to pay for a life experience to be *****ed by such people isnt fair at all. i no longer wish to use STA travel as Ashleigh has made this a nightmare
