STA Travel *****!!!!
I booked and paid for a honeymoon to Bali around R50k, I specifically requested STA Travel to refund me upon receiving notice of the Pandemic and Travel bans. STA Travel assured me that my (our) money will be save with them as they are a international Company, I specifically told the agent what if STA gets liquidated where will it leave me, they confirmed that my money will be save with them and forwarded me a CN. I requested my lawyer to look into the Directors of the firm and it seemed that STA opened a new "firm" on the 1st of September 2020. One could only assume that our money is being used to fund their new firm. I also noticed that they have their branding still in the store in Table Bay Mall (obviously closed) but nevertheless management of the Mall would already liquidated and removed them if they did not pay their rent. I even phoned one of STA's Directors and he could not provide me with any answers, only that they will provide feedback.....NONSENSE!!!! THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE FEEDBACK. Did someone refer the matter to the UMBUD or a lawyer? I am not sure are a Liquidator being appointed yet....the last correspondence we received was on the 25th of August breaking the news that they allegedly app**** for voluntary liquidation. I still am of the opinion that STA are dragging the liquidation process to move their assets, and by doing this using Client's money.
