Poor service for travel arrangements

I booked my once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon through STA Travel. How disappointing. Firstly, no special arrangements were made at the hotel for our honeymoon period, and when enquiring at the hotel reception what had been arranged as this was a honeymoon package, they advised that a double bed had been booked, that was it. No welcoming or any special honeymoon extras. Secondly, on arrival at the hotel, the transport booked by STA Travel took us to the wrong hotel (note, this was late in the evening after dark, in a strange country). Thirdly, the hotel that was booked had a swimming pool under repairs for the entire period of our 10 day stay! No swimming pool??!! How crazy that the agent would book us at the hotel that was under repairs/remodelling?! The entire second floor of the hotel was also under remodelling. The noise was permanently unbearable, dust constantly, and hitting and banging until late into the evenings. One was not able to rest or appreciate any of the surrounds the entire time we were booked into the hotel. How disappointing. I feel the agent should have put at least some effort into finding out about honeymoon specials and making our stay as pleasant as possible. But it seems the agent was just interested in getting a booking, and no concern for the client or what the clients needs was taken into account. I will not be using STA Travel again.
